Worked on a project involving a radar system. Tasks apart
from secreterial work included translations as well as ordering parts and
developing contracts with customers all over the world. Good opportunity
to learn 'business German' and improve computer knowledge. At times little
responsibility and little to do. Applied by sending a CV by post and
simply got a phone call from the Praktikant working there at the time. No
interview. For accommodation look at adverts in the 'Abendzeitung' or in
'Kurz und Fundig'. |

Work related to the international business TV of the bank,
which was used to educate the bank's employees. General office work,
attending conferences, work in TV studios. Brilliant placement, nice
people + lots to do & learn! I learned lots about general
administration and about the bank, but especially about business TV. I
also worked for some time in the 'International Markets' section (MSP4)
which was terrible and nothing to do for 3 months. |

Tasks involved: research, data input, translation & all
the menial tasks (e.g. filing, photocopying) that Praktikanten get. The
office was young, relaxed and a lot of fun. A mixture of nationalities
meant that a lot of English was spoken, but the work experience was
invaluable. Hours: 9.30- 5.30. Dress code: smart casual. Finding
accommodation in Frankfurt can be difficult. I found mine through
citymitwohnzentrale.de , even though I had to pay quite a hefty fee,
they'll let you know of any new offers. |
