comments:
The company was an internationally reputable satellite
communication firm, a subsidiary of Daimler/Chrysler, and it was very
exciting when a satellite was launched! I worked flexitime 35 hours/week.
I learnt office vocabulary and business terminology and a good deal of
satellite related vocabulary. The international atmosphere with about 200
other Praktikanten on the entire site in Friedrichshaven (1500 employees
in total) was very rich, even though the work could be tedious at times.
The company arranged accommodation for me in a house with 2 English, one
Irish and 3 German Praktikanten. I joined the village band and the work
squah club, who made me feel more than welcome. |

I spent part of my 3rd year in Hamburg working for
Beiersdorf. They're a huge German company with brands such as Nivea,
Elastoplast and Eucerin. My internship was in the International Marketing
Department but they constantly have openings in all departments such as
human resources for example. I sent a letter to introduce myself with my
CV and references to the personnel dept. and they matched me up with a
department. Look thoroughly at their website and the different choices on
offer for foreign students there. Apply well in advance. |

(Brüderkrankenhaus), Jugendhaus Salesianum.

Praktikumsplätze:
Ab Juli 2003 und Sept 2004, 2 Plätze
